Cannot turn on laptop. Amber light next to power plug in

I have tried two different power cables and neither fixes it. The only lights that are on are the amber light next to the power inlet and the white light on the power button. I am able to get the keys to light up by running my fingers across whether the laptop is plugged in or not.
