Hi @Jim3451

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out—and I’m really sorry your HP Victus laptop keeps hitting blue screens, especially during Windows installation. That’s definitely frustrating, and I can imagine how disruptive it must be when you're trying to set things up properly.

Let’s walk through a few steps that can help identify and resolve the issue:

💻 What Might Be Causing the Blue Screen

Corrupted Installation Media
If you're installing Windows from a USB drive or recovery disk, the files might be damaged. Try recreating the installation media using the Windows Media Creation Tool.

Faulty RAM or Storage Drive
Hardware issues like bad memory or SSD/HDD errors can trigger blue screens during setup. You can run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics by pressing Esc repeatedly during startup, then selecting F2 to launch the tool and test

your components.

BIOS Settings Conflict
Sometimes incorrect BIOS settings (like Secure Boot or Legacy Mode) can interfere with installation. Restart your laptop and press Esc > F10 to enter BIOS, then restore defaults and save changes.

Outdated or Incompatible Drivers
If Windows setup is trying to load drivers that don’t match your hardware, it can crash. You can try installing Windows in Safe Mode or use the HP Support page for your Victus model to get the latest drivers after setup.

Overheating or Power Issues
Make sure your laptop is on a flat surface with good airflow and connected to a reliable power source during installation.

If you’d like, I can help guide you through creating a fresh installation USB or running the diagnostics step-by-step.

Let’s get your Victus back in action without those pesky blue screens 💪
