I am beyond frustrated. I purchased my laptop in February 2018 and the thing has been so incredibly slow. Back in October/November I contacted HP support and was told I needed to purchase a service plan so they could run diagnostics. I purchased the service plan and was told I needed to call back in 5 hours because their systems were down. WHAT??? I did eventually call back and they did something to my computer that made it a bit quicker, but that only lasted a short time. I'm seriously ready to box it up and ship it back to HP and cut my losses. I'm not paying for the support anymore because it's a waste. I want a new laptop!
I had an issue with an HP laptop previously and that slipped my mind when I purchased this one. I will NEVER purchase another HP laptop.

With the following specs it is a slow machine anyway
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04936075
Few thinks you can do to speed it up a bit
1. Upgrade RAM: It has 4 GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) now. It supports 16GB of RAM max you have few options
(a) Upgrade to 8GB: Keep 4GB and add 4GB to slot 2,
(b) Upgrade to 12GB: Keep 4GB and add 8GB to slot 2.
(c) Upgrade to 16GB: Replace both slots with 2 x 8GB.
Please use the following fully compatible RAM, you can buy from Crucial or ang good computer shop
4GB: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-15-f387wm/CT10452296
8GB: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-15-f387wm/CT10452265
2. Replace slow 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA with a faster SSD:
500GB: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-15-f387wm/CT11229365 or
1TB : https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-15-f387wm/CT11522463 or
2TB : https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-15-f387wm/CT11229365
It also has slow wifi and wired NIC but those are a bit harder to replace.
Regards.

Thank you.
It's sad that you spent money on a laptop and then have to spend additional money (almost $200) to make it usable. If I had known it would require added expense I would have opted for the more expensive one.
