Hi @Abhinavsengar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion laptop powers on but the screen remains black, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Power and Connections

  • Ensure the laptop is properly connected to the power source and that the power adapter is functioning. Sometimes, a loose or faulty connection can cause display issues.
  • Remove any external devices (USBs, external monitors) and try restarting the laptop.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery (if it's removable).
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery and reconnect the power adapter, then try turning it on again.

Check for Display Issues

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or VGA. If the external display works, the issue might be with the laptop's screen or internal connections.

Test with Different Brightness Settings

  • Adjust the brightness using the function keys (like F2, F3, or F4 depending on the model) to see if the display is just dim.

Reseat or Replace RAM

  • If you're comfortable working inside your laptop, you can reseat the RAM modules. Sometimes, loose RAM can cause boot issues.
  • Turn off the laptop, remove the battery, and access the RAM slots. Carefully remove and then reinsert the RAM sticks.

Check for Backlight Issues

  • Shine a flashlight at an angle on the screen. If you can see a faint image, the backlight might be malfunctioning.

BIOS/UEFI Reset

  • Perform a BIOS/UEFI reset by pressing the BIOS key (often Esc, F2, or F10) during startup. If the screen still doesn't display anything, this might not be an option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
