@EmeMa, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check your Internet connection

If you're using a Microsoft account, you’ll need an internet connection to verify your credentials. Make sure you're connected to the internet.

Try to log in with another method

If the PIN is not working, you can try other methods to log in:

  • Password: If you have a password set up as an alternative, try logging in with that.
  • Microsoft Account: If you use a Microsoft account, click on the "Sign-in options" link on the login screen and choose to sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.

Reset PIN through Sign-In Options

If you’ve forgotten the PIN, you should be able to reset it:

  • Click on "I forgot my PIN" link under the PIN entry field on the login screen.
  • Follow the steps to verify your identity using your password or Microsoft account and reset the PIN.

Boot into Safe Mode

If you're still unable to log in, try starting your laptop in Safe Mode:

  • Restart your laptop and hold Shift while clicking "Restart" from the power options on the login screen.
  • Once your laptop restarts, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings and select Restart.
  • After restarting, choose 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
  • In Safe Mode, try logging in again to see if you can reset your PIN.

Use System Restore

If the problem started recently, you might want to try restoring your system to an earlier point where it was working correctly:

  • Go to Advanced Startup options (by holding Shift and selecting Restart).
  • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore and follow the instructions.

Reset Your Laptop (Last Resort)

If none of the above methods work, you may need to perform a reset of your laptop. This will restore your system to factory settings, which can resolve most login issues:

  • Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC (you can keep your files, but it will remove apps and settings).

Try using a Local Account

If you use a Microsoft account to log in, try switching to a local account. This can sometimes bypass login issues:

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info > Sign in with a local account instead.

Let me know if any of these steps help or if you're encountering a specific error message

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

I tried to do 'Reset PIN through Sign-In Options' but it kept saying error. Even I rebooted it and tried to put in pin .. it would say error. I can't reset it as well because It say 'give me a moment' then it gives me the main screen and goes cycle again.
