Hi @Cliff105

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I hear your concern—it must be unsettling to see your laptop repeatedly asking you to choose an operating system instead of starting normally. Before we jump into solutions, let’s carefully narrow down what’s happening so we can isolate the cause.

Could you tell me a bit more about the situation:

  • When the laptop powers on, do you see a boot menu with multiple operating systems listed, or is it just one option that keeps looping?
  • Did you recently perform a Windows update, recovery, or reinstall before this started?
  • Is this a brand‑new laptop or one you’ve been using for a while?
  • Do you have more than one drive or partition installed (for example, SSD plus HDD)?
  • When you select an operating system, does Windows eventually load, or does it fail to boot?

These details will help us understand whether the issue is related to boot configuration, multiple OS entries, or something else entirely.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
