Laptop keyboard wouldnt type letters only numbers when I enter bidlocker key, pls help

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

 

I see you are experiencing keyboard issues with the HP Laptop when type letters in BitLocker key.

 

I have a few recommendations 

  • The reason you can't type letters is that BitLocker Recovery Keys are ALL NUMERIC. If it had letters in it, it was not a BitLocker Recovery Key.
  • BitLocker recovery keys consist of 48 numbers which is why you're unable to type characters - recovery keys themselves don't contain characters. BitLocker recovery keys are numbers only.
