I did a restore to 2.24, I ran diagnostics..passed, scanned via command..all good, contacted my avast security for issues. No virus or malware. Programs won't open, mapped drive wont work, file explorer just spins its wheels...had 2 contacts to hp help, no reply

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop that does not allow you to access the a few programs.
Please follow the steps below to perform an extensive system test to confirm if the hardware is working fine.
1) Shut down the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once.
4) Go to the system test > extensive test
If the hardware is working fine. Please follow the steps below to perform a reset.
1) Shut down the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Select the F11 key to enter the recovery environment.
4) On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.
4) "Reset your PC" and restore your system.
5) From here just follow the screen instructions until the reset is completed.
