I successully recovered my laptop due to 'HP Logo Only' problem.
Unfortunately its back to factory settings on Windows 8.1
Is there any way I can upgrade it to Windows 10 for free which is the version it was on, prior to my issue?

Hi:
Yes you can. There are two ways...you can upgrade back from W8.1 or you can clean install W10 by using the media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
When you go to install, you will have two choices...enter a product key (which you don't have), or check the 'I don't have a product key' box.
Check the I don't have a product key box and W10 will install and automatically activate since Microsoft has a record of your PC having been previously upgraded to W10.
