Hi @Perez35041
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion laptop powers on but the screen remains blank and the power light blinks or cycles, here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning it on again.
Check for External Devices:
- Remove any external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) that may be connected. Sometimes, these can interfere with the boot process.
Test with an External Display:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or VGA cable. This will help determine if the issue is with the laptop's display.
Inspect Power Supply:
- Ensure the power adapter is functioning correctly. If you have access to another compatible adapter, try using that to rule out power supply issues.
Listen for Beep Codes:
- When you power on the laptop, listen for any beep codes. These can indicate hardware issues. Refer to the HP support site for details on what the codes mean.
Check RAM:
- If you’re comfortable doing so, try reseating the RAM. Remove the RAM sticks and then reinstall them, ensuring they're seated properly.
Remove Any Additional Hardware:
- If you have multiple RAM sticks or a secondary hard drive, remove any non-essential hardware and try to boot with just one stick of RAM and the primary drive.
Let It Rest:
- Leave the laptop powered off for a while (about 15-30 minutes) and then try again. Sometimes, components can overheat and need to cool down.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
