Hi @Mohammadali2427,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP laptop is not detecting the operating system on the hard disk, which could be caused by several issues such as a failed or missing boot partition, hard drive problems, or BIOS settings.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check BIOS Settings

  • Turn off the laptop and turn it back on.
  • Press the ESC key or F10 key immediately to enter the BIOS setup.
  • In the BIOS, go to the Boot tab and make sure your hard drive is listed as the primary boot device.
  • If the hard drive is not listed, it could indicate a hardware issue or that the hard drive is not properly connected.

Check Hard Drive Connection

  • If you're comfortable with it, you can try to open the laptop and check if the hard drive is properly connected to the motherboard.
  • If you are unsure, consider taking the laptop to a professional for this step.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop and unplug the power cable.
  • Remove the battery (if possible).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery, plug in the power cable, and try turning it on again.

Try Booting from a USB Drive (If You Have One)

  • If you have a bootable USB drive with an operating system (Windows or Linux), insert it into a USB port and restart the laptop.
  • Press ESC or F9 to access the boot menu and select the USB drive as the boot device.
  • If it boots from the USB drive, it indicates that the hard drive may have issues.

Run Diagnostics

  • You can run HP diagnostics to check for hardware issues.
  • To do this, press ESC when turning on the laptop, then press F2 to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to test the hard drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
