Hi @Fixlaptop2003,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is displaying an "Automatic Repair" message when you start it up, it means that Windows is attempting to diagnose and repair a problem with your computer's startup process. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including software issues, corrupted system files, or hardware problems. Here's what you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Wait for Automatic Repair to Complete: Sometimes, the Automatic Repair process can take a while to complete. Let it run and see if it can fix the issue automatically. Follow any on-screen instructions if provided.
  • Hard Restart: If the Automatic Repair process doesn't seem to be progressing or if it's stuck in a loop, try a hard restart. To do this, turn off your laptop completely, then turn it back on. Repeat this process a few times until you see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" message.
  • Check External Devices: Disconnect any external devices (like USB drives, printers, or external hard drives) from your laptop and then try starting it again. Sometimes, these devices can interfere with the startup process.
  • Use Safe Mode: If you can't get past the Automatic Repair screen, try accessing Windows Safe Mode. To do this, turn off your laptop and then turn it back on. As soon as it starts to boot (before the HP logo appears), repeatedly press the F8 or Shift+F8 key until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, you can select "Safe Mode" and see if your laptop starts in this mode.
  • System Restore: If you can access the Advanced Boot Options menu, you can also try performing a System Restore to a point when your laptop was working correctly. This can often fix startup issues caused by recent software changes.
  • Repair Windows Installation: If none of the above steps work, you may need to use a Windows installation media (USB or DVD) to repair your Windows installation. You can boot from the installation media and select the "Repair your computer" option.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: If the issue persists, it's possible that there is a hardware problem causing the startup issue.

Remember to back up your important data if you have access to your files before attempting any repairs or restoring your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
