When installing the drivers it says it is installing the "Intel Video Driver and Control Panel".
Where do I find this control panel?
All I can find is the following -

Ctrl-alt F12 was the only way to get the graphics control panel to show.

I got completely fed-up with the whole thing and installed dual-boot Ubuntu alongside windows. This also involved converting the disk from MBR to GPT with the free microsoft utility.

Ubuntu has an interesting error on boot-

It's not fatal on Windows, but the Intel GPU resets often. I can't pretend to fully understand DMA-BUF, but this is increasingly becoming relevant.

Perhaps the lagging is due to the GPU resetting often?

Hello @Spotspot

Do you have valid HP warranty ?

Check HP warranty status:

You need to provide the serial number of your notebook here:

Check your warranty or service status

To find serial number follow:

Don't post serial number here in the community !

If status (date) is wrong:

Hello @Spotspot

The chances are bad to request a bios update without warranty.

I want to try older BIOSes, where can I download them from?

I have done this before, nevertheless I did it again and it did not install new graphics drivers as they were already the most recent.

I have installed dual boot with Ubuntu. Ubuntu also has a similar problem.

This problem didn't exist a couple of months ago and has now started. That's why I want to try older BIOSes as it's about the only thing I haven't tried yet. Where can I download older BIOSes?

As it stands my laptop is 3 years out of warranty and is so slow it's next to useless (yet some of the time it runs at full speed).
I'm thinking of sending it to a monastery for Monks to use to develop their patience.
I won't be buying HP again if I can't get it working.
