Hi,
My laptop slowed down after upgrading to Windows 11 24/7. I've already installed a previous version of the video driver, like 31.0.101.2127, but it didn't make any difference. I've increased the RAM, but it doesn't make any difference. Is reverting to the previous version of Windows 11 the only solution, or do you have any suggestions?
Best regards.

Hi @Fauno,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand that your HP PC is experiencing performance slowdowns after upgrading to Windows 11 24H2, even after rolling back drivers or upgrading hardware like RAM
Why This Is Happening
The Windows 11 24H2 update introduced several changes that can affect performance:
- BitLocker encryption is now enabled by default, even on Home editions, which can slow down disk access
- Background services and telemetry may be more aggressive.
- Some Intel and AMD drivers are not fully optimized for 24H2 yet.
- Memory integrity and virtualization features may be enabled, impacting performance.
Recommended Fixes Before Reverting
1. Disable BitLocker (if enabled)
- Go to Control Panel > System and Security > BitLocker Drive Encryption.
- If BitLocker is on, turn it off and restart.
2. Turn Off Memory Integrity
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation.
- Turn off Memory Integrity and reboot.
3. Clean Boot
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
- Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
- Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager, and disable all startup items.
- Restart your PC.
4. Run SFC and DISM
Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
5. Check for BIOS Updates
Visit HP Support Assistant or your laptop’s support page to update BIOS and chipset drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi VikramTheGreat,
I've already tried your suggestions because this is the second time I've updated my laptop to 24H2 and then rolled back. The only thing I haven't tried is disabling BitLocker. I've now blocked automatic Windows updates, and if there aren't any updated Intel drivers in the future, I think I'll definitely switch to Ubuntu. Thanks for your reply and your time.
Regards.
Fauno.

Hi @Fauno,
Thank you for your update and for confirming the troubleshooting steps you have already tried. We understand the inconvenience this has caused, especially after multiple attempts with the 24H2 update.
We recommend testing after temporarily disabling BitLocker to see if it improves the situation. If you decide to proceed with the Windows update in the future, please ensure that all Intel drivers are updated from the official Intel or HP Support website before installation.
In the meantime, you may continue using your current setup, and we encourage you to check the HP Support page periodically for any new driver updates compatible with the latest Windows versions.
We appreciate your patience and the time you’ve taken to work through these steps with us.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @Fauno,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. HP works closely with our component partners, including Intel, to provide driver updates that ensure stability, performance, and compatibility with supported operating systems.
Driver releases for newer Windows versions, such as Windows 11 24H2, are dependent on hardware compatibility, validation testing, and certification processes. In some cases, if the hardware has reached its design or support limits, updated drivers may not be released.
We recommend regularly checking the HP Support website for your specific product to see if new drivers become available, and in the meantime, you may continue using the last validated driver version for optimal stability.
Regards
VikramTheGreat
