HP Notebook - 15-f233wm (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

    A few hours ago, while my notebook was shutting down due to low battery, the battery itself slipped out. When I turned it back on after a few minutes, it showed the "Choose your keyboard layout" screen. It proceeded to the recovery manager with the "Choose an option" screen with Troubleshoot and Turn off your PC being the available options.

    I tried basically every recovery option available including Startup Repair yet nothing seems to help. I tried all of the Computer Checkup options to no avail. All of my personal files appear to be safe from using the File Backup yet nothing seems to work. I don't want to use System Recovery because all of my files will be deleted and I have no external media to back them up to. Please help me quickly as I need this laptop for schoolwork that I am already behind in. It's the only one I have.

Thank you for your time,

Chris

@A86 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to perform the recovery.

Please perform the below steps on the computer to run a System Test

- Shut down/Turn off the computer

- Once the computer is completely Shut down/Turned off

- Now press the power button once to turn on the computer and immediately start pressing/tapping the F2 key on the keyboard

- This should open the UEFI Diagnostic screen on the computer

- Please select System Test and then select Extensive Test

In that case, you will have to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.

Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here
