HP Notebook - 15-f211wm (Touch
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The laptop is stuck in recovery cycle.  It started with a repairing disc error message when starting up after freezing and then after hours stating it could not be repaired.  I have done every thing I could find on forums.  I did a hard reset.  This included taking the battery out.  I tried to do a backup of my data and got error code FFFFFF15.  I then tried to just do a factory reset reboot.  I was told there is no recovery point.  I tried prompts in comand prompt suggested by others with no luck.  (I am a bit lost when I get into the command prompt screens .)  I followed a link to microsoft.com to a windows 10 generic reset disc and downloaded ISO and burned it on a disk.  This took me imediatly to configurations where as suggested I went to Bios and changed it to disk and reset computer.  No luck.  I even put in my recovery disk from my other laptop that runs windows 10 and it said not supported.  HP says there is no recovery disc availible.  I am at a loss what else to try besides a garbage can.

Comment:  There is no F11 key on this laptop (no F1-F12 at all)  so I have not tried that suggestion.  This laptop is almost 2 years old,  specs can be found https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-f200-notebook-pc-touch/7630399/model/8788164

Currently when the computer turns on it states diagnosing PC.  It then states Automatic Repair.  Your PC did not start correctly.  If you restart it does the same thing.  I select the Advanced Options button.  There it has 1-Continue Exit and continue to Windows 10 which does not work.  2- Use a device this is where I tried the Windows disk (I do not have the true recovery disk) 3-Troubleshoot to reset or see advanced options.  Under there is Reset which does not work.  Recovery Manager that does not work and gives me errors.  Advanced options-  That gives me System restore, System Image recovery, Start up repair, Command promp, UEFI firmware setting, startup settings

The first three just take you in circles.  I have only tried some command prompts but have not tried firmware and startup settings.

Hello @Debra99352

I take it you never created the HP USB Recovery Media which would have made things much easier for you to do the recovery with.

But you can use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to reinstall Windows 10 instead.

You will need to download the tool onto a working windows computer to create a USB Installer.

You will also need a USB pen drive with a minimum of 4 GB but no larger than 32 GB.

Create media Windows 10

Afterward, plug the installer drive into the laptop and make sure the AC adapter is plugged in.

Press the Power button and rapidly tap the Esc key to bring up the Options menu.

It will probably show F9 as the Boot Device Options. Press F9 to boot from the USB drive.

Once is starts, choose your language and continue. It will get to a point where it asks if you want to do a Custom install.

Choose Custom and delete all the partitions on the PC.

Then continue with the installation.

Once is done, you will need to install the drivers from the HP website.

You can have those already downloaded to your USB drive also it its large enough, and install them to the PC.

Let me know if you have other questions.

I got to the download driver stage.  I did download HP support Assistant as I was not sure what drivers I needed.  The computer got stuck on the download of Realtek Card Reader Driver and just says downloading.  It has been over 4 hours so I assume it will not complete and is a stuck cycle.  Two drives completed and it had two to go.  Thanks
