Updated my laptop and update was stuck at 100% for hours. I turned laptop off and now on startup it is stuck on hp please wait loop. I entered my bitkey tried going to safe mode and just every outcome leads to the same startup black ho screen with endless loop with the periodically error we have to restart message. When I press F11 it goes to the lovely hp loop screen. I just want to factory reset it and start fresh or go in safe mode and go back a few months.

Hi @FinesseNotSwag,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY x360 convertible laptop is stuck in a startup loop, where it continuously restarts without successfully booting into the operating system, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Perform a Hard Reset: Sometimes, a simple hard reset can help resolve startup loop issues. To do this, follow these steps:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect all peripherals and external devices.
- Unplug the laptop from its power source.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable and try turning on the laptop again.
Boot into Safe Mode: Booting into Safe Mode can help identify if the issue is related to a software conflict or driver problem. To access Safe Mode:
- During startup, press the "F8" key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
- Select "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking" using the arrow keys and press Enter.
Use System Restore: If the issue started after a recent software installation or update, you can use System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when it was working properly.
- Boot into Safe Mode.
- Search for "System Restore" in the Start menu and open it.
- Follow the prompts to choose a restore point before the issue started.
Check for Disk Errors: It's possible that disk errors are causing the startup loop. You can run a disk check to fix these errors:
- Boot into Safe Mode.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
- Follow the prompts to schedule a disk check on the next restart.
- Restart your laptop.
Use Windows Startup Repair: Windows has a built-in startup repair tool that can attempt to fix boot-related issues:
- Boot using a Windows installation media (USB/DVD).
- Choose your language preferences and click "Next."
- Click "Repair your computer," then select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair."
Check Hardware: If software solutions don't work, there might be a hardware issue causing the loop. Make sure your RAM and hard drive are properly seated. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, consider seeking professional help.
Reinstall or Refresh Windows: If all else fails, you might need to reinstall or refresh your Windows operating system. This should be a last resort, as it will result in data loss unless you have a backup.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Yes hello @Alden4
none of those options work. Pressing F8 to enter safe mode prompts the loading to be continuous on a black please wait hp screen. I can not access and F key options after the enter because the endless loop remains until the laptop goes into a blue screen saying something went wrong and restarts the computer.
