In the last couple days, my laptop suddenly just completely shutsdown. It has happened several times already. A couple times it spontaneously shutdown after about an hour of use and a couple other times ony after a half hour or so of use. I get know error messages or warning beforehand. This has happened while the laptop was plugged in.
After suddden shutdown, I try to hit the power button and restart it however, there is no response. After waiting for a minute or so, I try depressing the power button again and system will then startup. This is very frustrating as I have lost some work on a few occasions each time this happens!
Please help!
Thank you.

Thank you for responding with the details,
Going by what you've mentioned, the symptoms pointed out seems to confirm a hardware malfunction,
I recommend you check with an alternate adapter/ power cord and check if that works,

Thank you for being a part of HP Forums,
It'll be an honour to guide you through the steps needed to identify your concern and/or address your query.
Here's what I need to know to resolve your concern quicker:
Does the laptop heat up before it shuts down?
While you respond to that, I recommend you update the graphics card on your computer: Click here to find an install
If the issue persists, please download the Auto-detect AMD Tool and install the drivers from the manufacturer site as well.
Also, follow the below steps to disable the auto-restart on failure, to identify the cause of the auto shutdown,
I need to know if the device powers off as in, the lights on the device turn off as well or do the lights remain on until you hold the power button for a while and then restart it?

Thank you very much for your response. Initially when I first experienced the sudden complete shutdown, i woukd say the laptop had been running for approx a half hour. I am not sure if it was running hot but I do recall hearing the fan. Upon the instant shutdown, I would try to hit the power button to no abail or response. After waiting about a minute I would be able to power up the laptop again by depressing the power button again however, the laptop would shut dow again completely without any warning or message about 1 min after repowering it. I have also tried to start the laptop up in setup mode (F2) and It shutdown even while in setup. Please advise, I teally need to my laptop functioning or this issue resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you,
JP
