I have my computer set to 'sleep' when the lid is closed.
For some time I have noticed the following things which periodically occur.

On occasions when I opened the lid the computer would not start. To try and cure this I have tried doing a 'Hard Restart' by holding the power button down 10-18 seconds, then pressing again (usually twice).Initially that appeared to work.

Yesterday (06 March 2025) I experienced a different problem as follows.
Initially the computer started and was in use for a while, and after use the lid was closed.

Later on in the afternoon, when I opened the lid, the computer would not start, so again, I
tried to do a hard restart, as mentioned above. This time the power button lit up briefly along with with keys f5 and f8 but only for 2-3 seconds and switched off. This continued with the keys mentioned switching on and off every few seconds.

This morning the computer does nothing and is completely dead.
