I installed the intel SP76159 and no more unknown devices!
On the touchpad, that driver does not seem to work. When I clicked on mouse in control panel, I received an error that the computer couldn't connect to the PS2 device and did I want to uninstall. I clicked yes.
Display drivers. I am listing a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and an NVidia GeForce 940M. So missing the intel adapter it seems. Where do I find that one.
As always, appreciate your help!

I wonder if your notebook has the other model touchpad listed (Elan).
Try this touchpad driver...
This package provides the driver that enables the ELAN Touchpad in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The driver enables general touchpad functionality (for example double-tap and scroll) and provides a user inter-face.

In order to see if I can find the right Intel graphics driver for your notebook, I would need to know the model Intel processor your notebook has.

Thanks - this driver installation says "The driver version doesn't suit this Touch-Pad. Please check the device in system and install the suitable driver."
As far as the processor, I am assuming you mean CPU? This is what I have in the system information window:
Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.60 GHz
12.0 GB
64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
Full Windows Touch Support with 10 Touch Points

You're very welcome.
OK, so then you definitely have the synaptics touchpad system.
The only other suggestion I can offer for that, would be to try the driver directly from Synaptics.
I'd say the 3rd one on the list.

Graphics: Try this one first.
This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

If that one doesn't work, try this one...
This package provides the Intel video drivers, control panel and display audio driver for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Graphics worked - can now change the brightness of the display. Cool!!!
Synaptics - downloaded the 3rd one and it failed (tried more than once). Error messages says "Synaptics (Syn TP) Mouse (10/17/2013 17.0.19.0) install failed. So not given us much of a reason...

Fair enough.
Listen, you have been a TREMENDOUS help in getting my laptop back up and running. I have no more 'unknown devices', the laptop is stable and quiet, and I simply could not have done this without you.
Paul, thank you very much for your help, and your incredible responsiveness!
Mario
