Hp 15-db0066wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My wife was playing a game on our Hp 15-db0066wm. She fell asleep and the computer appeared to be off when I came in the room. I pressed the power button and the display doesn't come on. It sounds as if a fan is running and the light on the caps lock button flashes 5 single times and then 3 rapid times and starts the sequence over again. The power indicator light is on but the hdd light never comes on.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

I never had a chance to try this solution. I went to turn the computer on again and it's completely dead and won't turn on even if it is plugged into an outlet. I even went through all of the steps the virtual assistant suggested with no luck. I do appreciate the help though.
