Hey community!
On Saturday I updated the BIOS on my computer since the HP Support Assistant was asking me to update it. After the update finalized, I noticed how whenever I would close the lid of my laptop, it would restart itself instead of going to sleep. The same thing happens whenever I try to shut it off and whenever I try to put it into sleep mode, the computer just keeps restarting itself. What can I do to fix this issue? I already restarted the computer to factory settings and I restored the BIOS too but northing changed.
Thank you!

I FIXED IT!!! After two long and painful weeks having an unreliable and expensive computer, I finally fixed it. If anyone is experiencing this issues after a BIOS update, just reset the CMOS by following the next steps:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Press and hold the Windows + V keys.
3. Still pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2-3 seconds, and then release the Power button, but continue pressing and holding the Windows + V keys until the CMOS Reset screen displays or you hear beeping sounds.

Thank you HP for the offered support, I am currently looking for a job and I have over 4 years in engineering background. Let me know if you guys have any positions available for someone motivated and with a problem solving mindset ;D

I have gone through your Post and I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue
Since you already perform the Reset, I suggest you perform a BIOS Recovery
Please follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3932413-2337994-16

@KrazyToad
I performed a BIOS recovery and there was no change, the computer keeps restarting whenever I try to put it in sleep mode, I close the lid, or I try to shut it down. Any other suggestions?
Thank you for your help!

Please try re-installing the operating system. Back-up the data and try these steps -
1. Shutdown the computer.
2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.
4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.
5. Click on Troubleshoot.
6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Recovery.
Note : Back-up all your data as System Recovery will delete everything that you had saved or installed on the computer.
