HP Notebook - 15-db0521sa

I hard reset laptop yesterday because of poor performance (laptop has always been slow, unresponsive). Today i tried to download the Sims 4 which i think is too big for the laptop maybe? It crashed mid download. Stuck in 'automatic repair' loop, 'repairing disk errors' etc, it will not reset again and won't do anything at all. Have tried all the usual trouble shooting options online. Should i take it to a professional or is there anything else i can try? I don't have recovery media, i know next to nothing about tech so I'm at a loss.

Unusually slow performance is nearly always an indicator of a failing internal drive and when you tried to download a large file to the drive, that must have been enough to push it over the edge.

The drive will need to be replaced, and Windows reinstalled on the PC.
