Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Tried to boot up my laptop last night and encountered BSOD with the message ‘Page Fault in No page area’ the laptop then shut off and now won’t reboot.

When I turned it back on, it has a series of beeps 3 long, 2 short. The caps lock is flashing, the fan is running louder than I’ve previously heard it but the screen remains black.

Ive tried a hard reset after some searching around here, and the laptop ‘turns on’ with battery only though the screen doesn’t light up.

I have 0 experience with computers, is this able to be fixed without opening up my laptop as if that were the case I’d have to get someone else to do it due to me not wanting to create an even bigger issue to my inexperience.

Laptop is around 3 years old and out of warranty - how much am I looking at to fix this?

TIA

Hi

You get a LONG (MAJOR) signal category, RED LED &

then a SHORT (MINOR) signal category, WHITE LED.

Major – the category of the error; Minor – specific error in that category

The AUDIBLE repeats 5 times, and the VISUAL until power is removed.

Hardware

3.2

The embedded controller has timed out waiting for BIOS to return from memory initialization.

Indicates potential memory failure.

1 Reseat memory.

2 Correct memory configuration.

3 Test with known good memory.

4 Replace affected component.

I suggest you get a quote or 3 from local repair shops for fitting replacement memory modules.

First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat

AND/OR - Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
