HP Notebook - 15-db0063ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I had an update from HP the other day. However, since then, although the mute button works fine, the light to indicate whether it's turned on or off isn't working. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a solution? Thanks.

NOTE: My device just says I´m on windows 10. Not sure if it's 32 or 64 bit.

Hi@JohnnyPanic, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that notebook has an issue with the mute button light not working

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps.

Download the Realtek HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp7**bleep**5.exe

When done, hold down the Windows key and press R

Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the Realtek device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.

When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp78642.exe

When the Chipset reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking the function of the mute led.

Hello, the problem seems to be happening again. However when I click the link to download the Realtek audio installer, it's giving me a 404 error. Do you have a more recent link? Thank you
