Hi @Ellur1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If one of your ENVY x 360 laptops is having trouble opening a specific link on your homepage while other devices can open it without any issues, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check Internet Connection: Ensure that the problematic laptop is connected to the internet and has a stable connection.
- Try a Different Browser: If you're using a web browser to open the link, try using a different browser to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is browser-specific.
- Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data and cookies can cause issues with web page loading. Clear the cache and cookies in your browser's settings.
- Check for Browser Extensions: Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with website functionality. Try disabling any browser extensions or add-ons and see if the link opens.
- Reset Browser Settings: If clearing the cache and disabling extensions doesn't work, you can reset your browser settings to their default state. Be aware that this will remove any customizations you've made.
- Try Incognito or Private Browsing Mode: Open the link in an incognito or private browsing window. This mode doesn't use cached data or cookies, so it can help diagnose if the issue is related to your browser's settings.
- Test in Another User Account: Create a new user account on the laptop and try opening the link from that account. This will help determine if the issue is specific to your user profile.
- Check for Firewall or Security Software: Sometimes, security software or firewall settings can block certain websites. Check your laptop's security settings or firewall rules to ensure that the website is not blocked.
- Update Your Browser: Ensure that your web browser is up to date. Outdated browsers can have compatibility issues with certain websites.
- Check for Operating System Updates: Ensure that your laptop's operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates can resolve compatibility issues.
- DNS Settings: If the link uses a specific domain name, you can try changing your DNS settings to use a different DNS server, such as Google's DNS or OpenDNS.
- Hosts File: Check if the hosts file on your laptop contains any entries that might be blocking the website. The hosts file can be found at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows.
- Check the Link Itself: Ensure that the link is correct and hasn't changed. Try accessing the link directly from the browser's address bar by typing it in.
- Check for Malware: Run a malware scan on your laptop to ensure that it's not infected with any malicious software that might be causing issues.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with opening the link on your ENVY x 360 laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
