My HP 14s laptop has AMD Ryzen 5 5500u with Radeon graphics, 8 GB RAM and 512 SSD and Windows 11 Home pre-installed.
So my question is, does it support Linux OS? Like I wanted to switch to Debian 12. Am I going to face any problems if I switch to Debian (compatibility issue)
And does it affect my laptop's warranty, if I only change the OS??

Hi,
You can always download a live USB image of Debian 12 or your intended linux distribution and see how it works. Bookworm which is the codename for Debian 12 comes with the kernel 6.1.X that has a great support for AMD hardware and my personal opinion is that it will most likely work out of the box. I never had any big issues on HP laptops with various linux distributions dating back nearly 15 years.
As far as you keep/create the recovery USB/DVD drive the warranty shouldn't be an issue because you can always perform a factory reset.

Oh, thank you so much for the reply. Hmm, I have tried many distros on VMware. Never had any issues. And yeah I will definitely perform a live installation using USB to check driver and other compatibility before switching.
