Hi @Tim373,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there might be an issue with the boot loader or partition table on your system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue and access Windows.

Access BIOS/UEFI:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is usually done by pressing a specific key during the boot process, such as Esc, Del, F2, F10, or F12. The key depends on your computer's manufacturer.
  • Ensure that your primary boot device is set correctly. Typically, your primary boot device should be the hard drive where your Windows operating system is installed.

Boot Repair:

  • If you have a live USB of your Linux distribution, boot from it.
  • Once booted into the live environment, open a terminal.
  • Run the following command to install and run Boot Repair:

sudo pacman -Sy boot-repair boot-repair

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to repair the bootloader.

Using GRUB to Boot Windows:

  • If you see the GRUB menu during boot, try selecting the Windows option from the menu. Sometimes, the Windows entry might be listed there.

Check for Windows Boot Manager:

  • In some cases, you might be able to access Windows by selecting the "Windows Boot Manager" from the BIOS/UEFI boot menu directly.

Use Windows Installation Media:

  • If you have a Windows installation USB or DVD, you can use it to repair the Windows bootloader.
  • Boot from the Windows installation media and choose the "Repair your computer" option.
  • Follow the prompts to repair the startup.

Check Partition Table:

  • Use a partition manager tool (like GParted) to check the partition table and ensure that both Windows and Linux partitions are intact.

Remember to back up important data before making any significant changes to your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
