Hello,
I'm trying to log into my laptop but I keep getting a message stating to use the last password, which I believe I put the correct password. After so many attempts I tried to log in with the new password it says I'm offline. I'm not sure what to do next. Is there somone who can assist me so I can log into my computer. It's been years since I've last used my HP.

@JazzDS, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding password issue on your HP notebook!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble accessing your HP notebook. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Your Internet Connection: Since the message indicates that you are offline, ensure that your laptop is connected to the internet. You can check your Wi-Fi connection or use an Ethernet cable to connect directly.
Use a Password Reset Disk: If you have created a password reset disk, you can use it to reset your password without logging into Windows.
Windows Password Reset:
- If you are using a Microsoft account, go to a different device that has internet access and visit the Microsoft Account Password Reset page. Follow the instructions to reset your password.
- If you use a local account, you might need to perform a password reset using Windows recovery options or third-party tools (since using third-party tools can vary greatly, make sure to research thoroughly before attempting).
Boot in Safe Mode: You can try booting your laptop in Safe Mode to troubleshoot the issue. From the sign-in screen:
- Restart your computer and press F8 until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
- Select "Safe Mode" and log in using your normal credentials. Sometimes Safe Mode can bypass certain login problems.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
