For some odd reason my HP laptop is not working if I turn it on it says system error boot image Authentication. So I use F12 and F2 to run a memory drive test and a hard drive diagnostic. But it says that testing drive one Smart Check not available long DST not available

That generally means the hard drive is not responding to a testing inquiry from the motherboard and provides pretty strong evidence the hard drive needs to be replaced.
