HP Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The battery in my HP Omen laptop has nearly bit the dust. Since its a gaming laptop it wasn't great when it was new, averaging around 5.5 to 6 hours, but now it can't make a full hour without being plugged into the wall. This is understandable as is nearly 5 years old, and I'm looking to replace it and bring some life back into this laptop.

I originally looked on HP's site as they list replacement parts for their devices, but the battery was the only component that wasn't available to purchase. I contacted HP's customer support line, but since the warranty has expired for nearly 4 years they didn't offer any support, not even letting me purchase the battery and replace it myself.

Alright, time to look at third parties. Amazon and Newegg have listings that say that they work with this laptop, but nearly half of the reviews list the battery popping or bricking the laptop. That means that this is not an option either.

Lastly I headed to a Best Buy as they were where the laptop was purchases and they have a back log of parts of the devices that they sell. However they couldn't find the laptop in their logs. They then reached out to Geek Squad, who also didn't have any parts for this. Finally they went online to their vendor side of HP and looked for the laptop, and found every component of the laptop (motherboard, screen, webcam, casing) except for the battery.

I know the laptop is 5 years old, but that is not an unreasonable amount of time to keep replacement batteries, especially if they have a backlog of every other component. Where can I find this battery?? I'm more than willing to replace the battery myself knowing that I am outside of Warranty, I just want the part. No one that I have talked with has even been able to find a part number for this battery to contact the original manufacturer of the battery. If anyone can help me out, It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately its on back order and its nearly as expensive at my laptop currently sits at, so I may need to look at alternatives. I appreciate the speed of your help, as it took so much less time for you all to help me than others have been able to.
