Hi, found our old Notebook, a Presario M2000, bought back in 2005. Thought I would give it some love and a "fresh" installation of Windows XP.
But when I searched after the CD-ROM:s that followed the computer I couldn´t find them.
So I installed Windows XP from another installationdisc I have and all went well since the license-key is glued to the bottom of the computer.
But now I´m wondering: Is there anywhere I can find the drivers for the LAN-port and the other components that require such? Or do I have to search deeper in my
Can´t find them on HP:s homepage, which is understandable since it´s an pretty old product.
Many thanks
/Tommy

Hi, @Tallytonk :
OK...here you go...
Sound control unit:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp30001-30500/sp30399.exe
SM-bus controller & Graphic card controller: I had posted this driver before, and it is definitely the correct driver for the ID's you posted.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp31001-31500/sp31101.exe
PCI-modem:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32337.exe
If the ethernet is working then you don't need to install a different driver.

Hi:
Here is the link to the ethernet driver...
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp29001-29500/sp29486.exe
What is the product number of your notebook?
The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.

Hi again.
I tried the 3 drivers that you provided with the following result:
The Ethernet driver installed ok.
The graphic driver wasn´t a valid win32exe-file. Sorry, I forgot to mention which type of XP I installed 🙂
And the audio-driver just wanted to add something to the registry. Still only getting the PC-Speaker sound though.
I checked the device-manager and, sorry for my translations from swedish 🙂 , but I got the following yellow quistionmarks:
- Sound Control unit
- PCI-modem (won´t be needing that I think)
- SM-Bus Controller
- Graphic Card Controller (VGA)
I installed a swedish version of XP and therefore I´m not sure if my list is understandable 🙂
Thanks
