HP with a dual core i5 processor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. My name is Greg. I recently purchased an HP Notebook model #6GR94UA with a i5 dual core processor. I'm very limited on computer savvy lingo. I tried transferring pictures from my Samsung Galaxy J3 phone to my laptop via a usb cable and the import button that was on the upper right info bar in the default pictures program on the start screen. After it confirmed that the pictures were transferred, I disconnected the cable and verified the pictures had indeed transferred to the laptop. I then deleted a good portion of the pictures off my phone (I was freeing up space), and saw that all the pictures were indeed on my laptop. Here's my problem: when I looked later, the only pictures on my computer, both Galaxy and Google, are the ones that are left on my phone. I've looked everywhere. I did see that the phone pics were archived before importing them to my Laptop, but can't find them anywhere. Yes, this is my 1st attempt at this sort of thing with importing. Help?

Thank you,

Greg, aka GROG1958

Sorry to hear this ...

What do you mean when you say the pictures were "archived"?

The phone said the pics were saved in archive, something to that affect, before being imported to the computer. I assumed it was saved to my phone, but nothing I can see or find of the lost pics on the phone or computer.

I have a Samsung S7 -- and I have pictures on it -- but I've never seen that message about archiving.

My suggestion is that you check out some online Android forums to see if folks can tell you how to retrieve the pictures from the archive, since they are probably just in another directory that is not easily seen.
