Low disk space on new HP Stream 11

I bought two of these laptops to help my children with their study. One was bought only 6 months ago, the other late in 2019 but both have run out of disk space already and can't install updates, for example. I have tried to create a new excel file this morning and was told there was insufficient disk space to open it. There's virtually no documents stored on the laptops as we use One Drive. Has anyone got a simple fix for this? Thanks

You have two related issues here: lack of disk space, inability to install Updates.

In terms of the first, here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:
