MEI Driver installation not progressing

HP Recommended
HP Laptop 14-cf1506sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’m installing the recommended HP updates via the HP support assistant and one of the driver updates (Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver) is just stuck in the ‘installation in progress) screen.


The progress bar is full but has been stuck here for about an hour now with no change.


I can’t close out of the window either. 

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
