@ralinalathanyan,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

OK, this isn't an HP setting. It's a Windows password-expiration policy that gets enabled when the laptop was originally set up with:

  • a local account that has password expiration turned on, or

  • a Microsoft Account that was configured with expiration (rare, usually from workplace/school policies), or

  • a system that was previously joined to a work domain.

You can turn off password expiration like this:

Method 1 — For a Local Account (most common):

  1. Press Windows + R, type or copy/paste and then Enter:

    netplwiz
  2. Select your user account → click Properties.

  3. Go to the Advanced tab → click Advanced (under "Advanced User Management").

  4. Double-click Users → double-click your username.

  5. Check Password never expiresOK.

Method 2 — Using Command Prompt:

  1. Right-click StartCommand Prompt (Admin) or Windows Terminal (Admin).

  2. Run the following command:

    net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited

This disables password expiration for all local accounts on the PC.

Method 3 — If using a Microsoft Account:

Microsoft Accounts normally do not force monthly password changes.

If it still happens, check:

  1. Settings → Accounts → Your Info
Confirm it says: "Sign in with a Microsoft account."

  2. However, if your laptop has a Microsoft work/school account, IT policies may enforce expiration, and it cannot be turned off unless removed from the device.

Method 4 — Remove work/school policies:

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts → Access work or school.

  2. If you see any work/school account linked → Disconnect it.
Some of these accounts automatically enable password-expiry rules.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

It sounds like your laptop is connected to a work or school network that forces password resets every month. Usually, that policy can only be changed by the system admin, not from your device. You might want to check with your IT support—they can confirm if the setting is mandatory.

By the way, if your question is related to accessing study materials or tools, just make sure you're using platforms responsibly. I’ve seen people mention assignment writing services on sites like myassignmenthelp.services, but it's always best to use those only for guidance or learning support, not for replacing your actual work.
