I need help. My mass storage device was in use when an error message popped up I was copying pictures, now I can't access it even though my computer recognizes that it is plugged in. Any suggestions?

Hi, @Jubilee_1 I will need more information about this.

 

  1. When you said mass storage did you mean a USB Pen Drive or an external hard drive?
  2. What was the error message that showed?

External hard drive and I'm not sure, I tried to click past it like an idiot hoping it didn't mean anything.

What sort of device do you own that you store your files on? It could be a USB stick or something like a 250 HDD External Harddrive?

 

Furthermore, it could have gotten corrupted so you may need to format it for it to work again or you could get a technician to have a look at it.

It's a 2TB backup plus slim portable storage by seagate.
