Hi, When trying to do a recovery or a reinstall it only runs a minute then halts and I get a box thay says "A media driver your computer needs is missing. (Earlier today it was saying missing or corrupted )This could be a dvd, usb, or hard disk driver. If you have cd, dvd, or usb flash drive please insert it now. Note: If the installation media for windows is in the dvd drive you can safely remove it for this step." I've checked in device manager and also checked in This PC and everything looked ok. I went to windows update to see if there was anything I needed to download but nothing there. Also, let me mention that a friend had a recovery and install disk and was nice enough to run it for me or and after she got it going Microsoft would not activate it because my notebook came with Windows 10 Home installed and the disk my friend had turned out to be Windows 10 Pro. Any idea's for a fix to either one or both of these problems would definitely be appreciated! Thanks!

One option would be to go to the Microsoft site and create a bootable USB memory stick (at least 8GB) to install from.
You should get an almost up to date version as well:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
After the installation you would then go to the HP site to install any missing drivers:

This solution lacks the technical details to actually be called a solution. More of a suggestion. Recommend changing it from being an accepted solution.
Questions still remain to which drivers are required to be loaded on the Windows 10 USB Boot drive and how they are to be incorporated. I'll try another forum for a better solution.
