Good morning,

I purchased a Windows 11 HP laptop from Amazon, as a new product, in Spring 2024. Recently, while doing classwork or just checking my email, I receive a blue screen with an error message, and then the computer restarts on its own. I'm unsure of what the full message states as it only displays for approximately 10 seconds before immediately restarting but I am able to read that it pertains to a memory issue. I do not have very many files saved to my computer. I recently ran a diagnostic and received a "memory problem" error that states to identify and repair the problem, to contact the manufacturer.

Could someone please help me understand what the issue is and if it's covered to repair?

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

The error means that there is a defective memory chip that needs to be replaced.

But we can't help you without the model number of your notebook because some notebooks come with removable memory that can be replaced and some do not and if you have a notebook with non-removable memory, then the entire motherboard has to be replaced which would be very expensive.

A "memory problem" error on a new HP laptop almost certainly points to a hardware issue with your RAM (Random Access Memory). The good news is that since you purchased it in Spring 2024, it should be under HP's standard one-year warranty.
