Okay, so my product is missing a Media driver when I'm freshly installing Windows 11 22H2.

So I just look for the Intel RST Driver, right? WRONG! I find the latest RST, extract it, it's not in "INF" file format. Drat.

So, I open a command prompt, enter "diskpart" and type "list disk". My SSD shows up, but I still can't reinstall Windows. Drat, foiled again.

Okay, what am I missing? Diskpart can see it, so the install should see it, right?

The solution is to install the ISO using mkusb on Ubuntu. This works at least with Windows 10, I'll have to check with Windows 11 later.

Hi:

See if inserting the storage controller driver that I zipped up and attached below allows Windows to find the hard drive.

Unzip the file to its folder.  Copy the folder to a USB flash drive.

When you get to the screen where Windows cannot find the drive, click on the Load driver option and browse to the driver folder on your flash drive.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next, and hopefully W11 will install.

Unfortunately, none of the listed driver options are compatible with the hardware. I've successfully installed Windows in the past, but it's being incredibly annoying this time around.

Sorry that driver didn't work.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to see if your notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

Here is a link for how to use the utility.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter the full product number (including the 3 characters after the # sign) to in the tool's search window in order to proceed to create the recovery media.

Use this guide for how to find the correct product number of your notebook:

This would probably work, but unfortunately I don't have access to a working Windows machine. My whole family uses Mac or Linux, but I need a Windows machine for work.
