HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0001tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After a fresh win10 reinstall to correct a persistent "black screen on boot" issue,

I now have ten missing/broken drivers in Device Manager:

HP Support Assistant says there are no drivers missing or requiring updates...  Windows 10 says otherwise.

I cannot find downloads for these devices using the vendor/dev codes, but vendor 8086 is Intel  and 10EC is Realtek - perhaps they are hidden in an HP / Intel & Realtek chipset driver bundle?

Thank you, the vendor codes from Device Manager are pasted below:

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Unfortunately, I don't know what you can do about that device.

You might want to try the Auto update method when you click on the update driver button.

Another thing you can try would be to right click on the device, select Uninstall, and restart the PC.

Maybe W10 will install the device correctly.

Is there a reason that you didn't use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive?

That would reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

just try to reboot ur device to check whether the problem is fixed

Hi,

sorry I should have mentioned, these missing drivers have persisted through at least 10 reboots, at least 4 of which have been after post-install Win10 updates,

and after installation and running HP Support Assistant gave a result of  'no new or missing drivers'

After reading your suggestion I have rebooted once more and taken the following screencap to show the same ten missing device drivers:

Hi sorry again, i saved that screencap as .png - reposting as .jpg here 🙂

also to confirm, no windows 10 updates are pending (also screencapping that for you here)

For whatever reason, the 'image upload' function is very buggy - it took four retries and repost/edits to get it to work and still had to add this image in a separate post and ensure i clicked 'preview' before posting, so it would appear here as a visible image...

anyway, here is my screencap showing no pending win10 updates.

Hi, @Mortex360

The Intel chipset driver should install several of those devices.

Install this driver first and restart the PC.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp101001-101500/sp101171.exe

You will also need the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp95001-95500/sp95216.exe

The PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_525A device needs this driver...SD card reader.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96501-97000/sp96875.exe

I believe the ACPI\VEN_INT&DEV_33D5 device needs this driver...Intel Human Interface Device (HID) Event Filter Driver

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100501-101000/sp100913.exe

Thank you Paul Tikkanen!

Those drivers worked for the Intel chipset, Intel dynamic platform, thermal framework driver,

only the Realtek SD card reader & Intel Human Interface Device (HID) Event Filter Driver failed,

citing "The driver is not supported on this OS version (10.0.19043)"

which may explain at least part of why they are in the 'Other devices' reject pile in Device Manager....

so basically only these three remain:

You're very welcome.

Try manually installing the last two drivers I posted for as you can see from these partial copy and pastes of the driver setup information files, they do show driver support for those hardware ID's.

To manually install the driver...I will give you the complete steps for the Realtek one, then just do the same thing for the other one.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the PCI device needing the driver.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for drivers option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be in C:\SWSetup\sp96875.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

Then do the same thing for the unknown device, except browse to C:\SWSetup\sp100913.

I will have to investigate further as to what driver the PCI Serial Port needs.
