To the Community,
I am trying to install Win10 on my very old DV6 laptop. I took a hard drive from an old laptop (HP) I have reformatted it but I am unable to install it with a media installation usb or drive recovery usb, I keep getting a message that it is missing a device driver not sure if that means a start driver which I read on Microsoft. I did a test in Bios and the test status said 'No IDE device'.
I'm 81 and not very tech wise so any help what I need to do and where to download it please.

Thank you so much Rita_R2 But I have solved my problem. I didn't realize the small h/d had an extension until I was trying to fit an adapter to it, and although the larger h/d looked connected it wasn't so I attached the extension to the 500GB h/d and everything is working. I have almost finished the installation.
