Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I just upgraded my laptop yesterday to Windows 11. While cleaning my USBs and microSD cards of pics, I noticed that I didn't have my D drive. I used to get pop ups saying to reconnect my drive (and still do) and for some reason I thought they meant the USB because I had left it connected overnight (like 8 months ago). So, I searched why it was missing. It said that maybe it was hidden, unallocated, uninstalled, assigned another letter and other reasons. I opened Command Prompt and asked for it to list volume. I saw my C drive labeled Windows as volume 0, another one no letter assigned, labeled System as volume 1 and the last one, volume 2 had no letter either, no label and at the very end for info it said hidden. Could volume 2 be my D drive?

How do I unhide it? I have seen videos on how to assign a letter to it by typing select volume 2 then type assign letter D. I just want it to show up when I go to this PC and be able to do a backup. Because I wasn't able to it, due to it not showing up as an option.

I see that my son's 2 laptops and my mom's laptop have their D drives hidden too. Why is that?

I hope someone can answer all my questions and if I have some misinformation, that someone can provide me with correct information.

Thank you for reading all of this and helping me out. Much appreciated.

Jen
