I purchased a HP Pavilion laptop a year and half ago, it’s stop powering up and the power button light turns on for a minute and then turns off. I have now found out that this is a motherboard issue and it needs replacing - and also been advised this is a common fault with HP Pavilion laptops.
As this is a common fault is HP doing anything to support customers with their faulty products ?

Merely saying something is a "common fault" does not obligate HP to do anything, whatsoever.
Sorry, but this is just self-help Community staffed mostly by volunteers and we are not authorized to deal with warranty, service or equipment replacement issues. For these issues, you will need to contact HP Customer Support.

Hi
appreciate your response but I think you missed my point, this is not a warranty question.
as this is a common fault with these laptops I wanted to know if anyone else has had any success or advice on how to go about this. This is clearly a manufacturer issue otherwise there would not be people mentioning the same thing over and over again.
I will contact one of your colleagues at HP and see if I have any luck with them.
Thanks
