Hey! There are multiple BIOS updates available for my laptop. I am currently on BIOS version F.36, and the latest one is F.65, with multiple updates between the two. So my question is, should I directly download F.65 and install it, or download every update from F.36 to F.65 and install them one by one? Also, is it better to use the HP Support Assistant to update the BIOS, or download the correct version from the HP Support website and install it? I read somewhere on this forum that we shouldn't update BIOS through the HP Support Assistant app. Another thing is that the HP Support Assistant recommends installing BIOS version F.52, which was released before F.65.

Hi:

The BIOS updates are cumulative, so F.65 will have all of the previous BIOS update info included.

I would never use the HPSA to update the BIOS.

Download the file yourself from the support page, and run it.

Make sure that the notebook is connected to AC power and the battery at least at 50% charge.

Do not have any applications running when you update the BIOS (close edge/internet explorer after you download the file), close any other programs that may be open at the time.

Quick update: per your reply, I downloaded the latest BIOS update from the Support website for my laptop and started the installation per its instructions. The update took a few minutes, during which my laptop restarted a few times and made some noise. I made sure to keep it connected to the charger and not to touch anything until it was done. It completed successfully and now my BIOS is up-to-date. Thanks for the quick reply to my question!
