Hi folks,
I made what seems like a huge mistake, buying an HP Envy x360-13 and am looking for some advice and help.
I already had to get in touch with HP as the machine had BIOS issues with the keyboard - not recognising keys, not lighting up, turning on sticky key functions at random etc, however, the machine also has the loudest fan I've ever heard, heats up beyond any laptop I've ever used in my life - just for simple, light duties and can lag on anything from graphic design to web browsing.
The machine also opens up an MSDos window at random, which crashes whichever web browsing software I'm using - be that Chrome or the new Edge. This results in having to open task manager and close the program.
The Envy shuts down on occasion at random, mid task, with no updates scheduled, or will turn itself to sleep. The power button doesnt always turn the machine back on - and the battery needs to be drained before it resets and turns on again! This is by far the most frustrating of all the issues.
When it's not turning itself off at random, it turns itself on at random, due to the design, the screen closes loose to the keyboard - no magnet? so event the slightest bit of movement in a case can slightly open the gap and in turn, turn the laptop on...
The list is actually constant and would bore you all to death, and just for reassurance, there is no viruses on the machine, it is used lightly with very little programs or files saved to it, and all in all should run perfectly...it struggles.
What's the advice, I'm still (just) within warranty - but not sure whom to contact?
Is the Envy completely goosed? or are they terrible machines in general.
Cheers
Cal
