When I move my laptop just a little to fast, not a sudden jerk, it will restart. I loose data. This can happen 1-2 daily. Is there an adjustment to stop this sesitivity?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
When you say move, do you mean like touch it and gently turn it on the surface it's on...or like carrying it while walking?
Because that is not "normal", it sounds like there may be a bad connection with the motherboard somewhere. Some laptops will shut down automatically if things get disconnected. Hence, I would recommend ship the computer in for physical diagnosis.

Thanks for your reply. A typical situation would involve taking from my lap while sitting in a chair and moving it to an end table next to it. If i am real careful, nothing happens. But, if i move a little faster and tilt it, it will retart. This laptop is on that coverts to a tablet and has landscape and portrait modes. Could the mechanism regulating modes (accelerometer?) be the culprite?

This sounds like a hardware related issue with the computer. I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
