Hello, I am Gregory from Nigeria.
About a week ago, I was booting my system when the power was interrupted at the welcome screen (My battery is bad and I have been using it like that for a while).
When they power came back on, I tried putting on the system and it takes over 20 minutes to come up from the welcome screen (this used to take less than 30 seconds)
Most of my apps take at least 5 minutes to start, and they function slowly.
The windows icon, the network and all the other icons on the menu bar refuse to come up when clicked.
When I restart and try to use the function buttons to access safe mode or bios settings they don't respond.
I try accessing system restore when the windows manages to come up and it doesn't respond. I can't even access tack manager most times with Ctr+alt+del and it doesn't respond.
Now I am trying to reinstalled the windows and the system is refusing to boot from CD or respond beyond the approval screen.
Can someone please tell me what to do? I really need to work with the system in delivering some documents. And now I basically can't as even Microsoft word is not functioning.

Hello @MorehGAI
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community.
First, let's start with hardware diagnostics - test your HDD or perform fast test -> F2 UEFI hardware diagnostics >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JXUp43ahHA
Let me know the results - provide details.
If the hardware tests PASS, here is how to reinstall Windows 10 >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/EliteBook-very-slow-after-drive...
Let me know how it goes
