@Twallace513, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP laptop not powering on!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It seems like your laptop might be having trouble fully powering on without manual input, which could be related to a power management issue, a stuck key, or even a hardware glitch. Let's try a few steps to see if we can get it working properly:
Power Reset
Sometimes, residual power can cause odd behavior. Try this:
Turn off your laptop completely.
Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if it’s removable).
Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
Reconnect the charger (without the battery, if removable) and try turning it on again.
Check the Keyboard
If holding down a key is the only way to power on, there’s a chance a key is stuck or malfunctioning.
Try an external keyboard (if available) and see if the issue persists.
Run HP Diagnostics
Your laptop might be prompting a hardware check. Here’s how to manually run diagnostics:
Turn off your laptop.
Turn it back on and immediately start tapping the "Esc" key (before the HP logo appears).
In the menu that appears, press F2 to open HP Diagnostics.
Run a System Test and see if any errors pop up.
If the issue persists, it might be related to the BIOS or motherboard. Let me know what happens after trying these steps, and we’ll figure out the next best solution together! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
