Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are having issues with the battery not charging on your HP Pavilion notebook. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you tried to reinstall the battery drivers? Did you try to update the Bios?
Have you tried to run a test on the Battery from F2?
Does the laptop shut down right away if the charger is disconnected from the laptop?
Have you tried to use a different compatible charger and check if that helps?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue.
The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.
Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the BIOS and the Chipset drivers to the latest version using the Official HP website for drivers and downloads: Click here to find it.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Run a battery test using F2 (during restart), if the test failed:
Check with an alternate battery.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,

Hi, thank you too. I had the exactly same problem and updating BIOS helped. The strange thing is, that I've had the same newest BIOS installed already for approximately two weeks and initially everything went well... So I had to replace BIOS version with exactly the same one to correct battery problem. Is it normal?

@Bhuiyan If the device is shutting down while attempting to reinstall the drivers while being connected to the wall outlet, we may have a failed battery or a bad charger connector,
Here's what you may need to do: run a calibration and battery test using the steps mentioned in this link: Click here and get back to me with the results for a more accurate solution!
